J&C Joel transformed the Roundhouse performing arts venue in London with a large-scale installation of high-quality Wool Serge drapes and Tracking Systems.
The Roundhouse is one of the UK’s leading cultural centres, offering a programme of cutting edge theatre, music, dance and performance art created by young people aged 11-25. Moreover, the venue also enables performers to reach digital audiences through its on-site television and radio studios.
J&C Joel provided a bespoke track and drapery system to withstand the rigours of touring productions whilst complementing the Victorian aesthetics of the Grade 2 Listed building.
J&C Joel manufactured the drapes installed around the venue using its Wool Serge 565 (WS090) fabric. This was selected due to its excellent acoustic properties and durability.
In addition, Triple E E Rail tracks were custom-shaped and fitted by J&C Joel’s in-house installation team to follow the building’s unique
curves and contours, preserving the character of the original Victorian metalwork.
The team secured all Wool Serge drapes to the tracks using Golf Bag Hooks. This ensures maximum strength and reliability.
J&C Joel also designed a portable Triple E E Rail track system, enabling staff to deploy it in different areas of the venue as needed.
