J&C Joel transformed the Roundhouse performing arts venue in London with a substantial installation of high-quality Wool Serge drapes and Tracking Systems.
The Roundhouse is one of the UK’s most important cultural centres and boasts a programme of cutting edge theatre, music, dance and performance art by young people aged 11-25. Performers can also reach out to digital audiences via on-site television and radio studios.
J&C Joel provided a bespoke track and drapery system to withstand the rigours of touring productions whilst complementing the Victorian aesthetics of the Grade 2 Listed building.
The drapes installed around the venue were manufactured using J&C Joel’s Wool Serge 565 (WS090) fabric which was selected due to its excellent acoustic properties and durability.
Along with this, the Triple E E Rail tracks, fitted by J&C Joel’s in-house installation team, were custom shaped to fit the building’s curves and contours without spoiling the aesthetics of the Roundhouse’s Victorian metalwork.
All of the Wool Serge drapes supplied were secured to the tracks using Golf Bag Hooks which provided the strongest method of attachment.
Finally, a portable Triple E Erail track was designed by J&C Joel’s installation team to be deployed in different areas of the building as and when required.
