The World of Yamaha in Johannesburg opened with a lavish ceremony attended by local celebrities and included performances by rock band Prime Circle and world-renowned pianist Peter Baartmans on a stage dressed by J&C Joel.

The World of Yamaha is the home of Yamaha in Gauteng and is a huge marketing complex displaying the complete product range of one of the world’s largest manufacturers of musical instruments, sound engineering equipment, motorcycles, marine engines, electric vehicles and much more.

The complex, built by Bidvest who own the rights to both Yamaha’s mechanical and musical brands in South Africa, contains soundproofed music studios, a cinema, a café and a 200-capacity theatre to be used for new product launches, corporate events and music evenings. The venue is also available for external companies to hire.

J&C Joel manufactured a complete set of masking curtains for the stage in the complex’s theatre made from black Molton (MOL002) fabric. More than 70m2 of fabric was used to make two traverse curtains, two stage borders, four legs and eight stage skirts. All stage curtains were unlined and made to order with hemmed sides and bottom pockets.
