J&C Joel was asked by the Kwai Tsing Theatre, Hong Kong, to provide removal and disposal services for their existing chain hoist system and install new replacement equipment.
Kwai Tsing Theatre is a major performance space located in Kwai Fong, it opened in November 1999 and has an 899-seat auditorium, as well as, a black box which can hold a capacity of 160 theatregoers.
The company provided and installed 15 BGV D8+ chain hoists with a 250kg SWL capacity, each hoist had a travel of 5.5m, with a speed of 4m/min, these were controlled via two 8-channel controllers with a plug-in pendant.
Each chain hoist was suspended from a 0.5-tonne universal locking beam trolley and incorporated a Broadweigh wireless load shackle. These independently wireless load cell units meant information could be displayed via any wireless synced device, providing real-time loadings for the end user, ensuring extra convenience and safety.
Finally, providing a turnkey solution, J&C Joel also installed a new main circuit breaker and power cables from the venue existing MCB to the 8-channel controllers.
