Working alongside Brilliant Stages, J&C Joel manufactured fabrics for the world-renowned English rock band Muse’s 2012 world tour.
Due to the last-minute nature of the job J&C Joel only had a short time-frame to turn the vision into a reality, once the drawings had been received.
As the band were touring, it was important that the fabric chosen conformed to both French and German Fire Regulations. J&C Joel quickly identified Regal Satin as the ideal fabric for the job as it meets both M1 and B1 Standards, as well as, BS5867 and Classe Uno. On stage, J&C Joel manufactured 300m of their black Regal Satin (REG027); this fabric also assisted with the blackout of any light.
Additionally, black Acoustic Transparent (ACT001) drapes were manufactured to absorb sound. Acoustic Transparent is a lightweight fabric which allows sound to penetrate, whilst also masking visually. Black Wool Serge 565 (WS090) drapes were also manufactured for areas that needed full blackout and required acoustic effects.
It was essential that the tour’s production team could see through certain areas of the stage, to ensure this was possible black Sharkstooth Gauze 9.75 (ST004) drapes were manufactured and fitted as windows around the black Regal Satin (REG027) drapes, measuring 3.17m with a 2.3m drop.
J&C Joel also designed and supplied a waterproof walkway manufactured from clear Marine PVC for some of the venues hosting the concert.
