The 2012 NME Awards took place at London’s O2 Academy in Brixton and brought together many of the leading lights in the UK music scene on a stage dressed in custom-made drapes from J&C Joel.
The ‘Rock ‘N’ Roll Circus’ theme of the awards ceremony, produced by Reality Ltd, made for a particularly memorable evening, in which artists including Noel Gallagher, Kasabian and the Arctic Monkeys were honoured.
J&C Joel manufactured an eye-catching stage surround measuring 19 metres wide and with a depth of 10 metres made from over thirty individual strips of ecru (CAS003), dark red (CAS017) and borage blue (CAS024) Casement, each measuring approximately a metre wide and precisely sewn together.
A pair of stage curtains spanning 13 metres wide and with a drop of 8.5 metres and again made with strips of ecru, dark red and borage blue casement were also supplied, opening in a traveller movement behind the main stage surround drape during the evening’s performances from bands including Pulp and the Vaccines.
Casement is a lightweight and affordable cotton fabric that is available in a wide range of vivid colours and is ideal for shows and exhibitions.
