Overview:

ILE Solutions are a specialised sub-contractor focusing on blinds, curtains, and acoustic installations within commercial environments. After securing a project for a small recording company located in the historic Electric Press building in Millennium Square, Leeds, they sought additional expertise to ensure the installation met the high standards required for professional recording spaces.

Consequently, ILE approached J&C Joel to undertake the detailed task of fitting two bespoke drapes, a green screen crafted using J&C Joel’s Chroma Key Green Wool Serge (WS019) and a Black Wool Serge masking drape manufactured from Wool Serge WS090. Both drapes were designed with a drop of 3.97 metres and an impressive width of 15.7 metres. Furthermore, the green screen required 44 metres of 1.5 metre wide fabric, while the black drape, produced with 50% fullness for enhanced light control and texture, required 93 metres of material.

In addition, a timber pattress was installed onto the plasterboard ceiling to provide the necessary structural support for both the substantial weight of the drapes and the newly fitted Triple E two-way track system. This ensured not only stability but also smooth and reliable operation of the drapes once in use.

The entire installation process took two engineers a total of two weeks to complete. Ultimately, ILE Solutions was extremely pleased with the result. As a result of the successful collaboration, they have established a strong and ongoing partnership with J&C Joel, with many more exciting projects already planned.
