Flip Flop Cable Tray

The Flip Flop Cable Tray is a cable management system where the cables are attached to metal trays, hinged at both ends. As the system moves, the trays unfold vertically carrying the cables. As the system contracts, the trays concertina or “flip flop” back onto themselves, allowing for efficient storage and cable management.  We offer a range of tray sizes and travel ranges to suit the specifics of the design.

The J&C Joel Flip Flop Cable Guides offer a range of standardised and modular power and data supply products for travels up to 19.5m.

When retracted, the folded cable guide sections sit in a custom-made catch unit, allowing system height to be minimised and overall flying height to be maximised. When the system extends, each section unfolds quietly.

The cable guide hinge consists of parts that limit the opening angle between straight sections to 178°. A recommended lifting speed of upto 0.2m/s makes them suitable for most lighting bars.

Fully custom solutions are available, although a full range of upper and lower connection details is available for connecting the system to truss, ladder bars, tube, concrete and steel beams.
