Bespoke Fabric Drapes
Summary
Ahead of the show’s transfer to the Gillian Lynne Theatre, prominent production manager Pat Molony contacted J&C Joel to produce a pair of digitally printed Regal Satin drapes to replace a set damaged during the move.
With a very tight deadline, we immediately set out the sampling process with designer Beowulf Boritt, who is based in the USA.
Running in parallel to the sampling process, we worked with the team to ensure the artwork was print-ready. Due to the fullness of the drapes, the design was expanded on its width by 50% to ensure it was ready correctly once pleated.
The drapes were completed and delivered to the site in advance of opening night and looked tremendous in an already spectacular set.
Since opening at the Gillian Lynne, the show has received rave reviews, leading to an extension to the run.
