J&C Joel was asked by Middlesbrough Theatre to produce a pair of striking Front of House drapes for the venue.
Middlesbrough Theatre, formerly the Little Theatre, is a 486-seat playhouse in the Tees Valley.
J&C Joel used their fabric Countess Velvet in the colour marine (VEL010) to support the existing blue colour scheme of the theatre and add a bright, luxurious touch to the space. In addition, black Sateen Lining (LIN002) was used to line the drapes, in order to add additional masking, blackout and acoustic properties and meet the requirements of the venue.
Each of the drapes produced measured a width of 5.1m x 4.9m drop and were sewn with 50% fullness, which also increased their acoustic properties. Finally, the drapes were finished with a Chain Weight in the base and Small Tab Hooks at the header to allow them to be easily attached to the track.
